CHESTER SHIPPING LTD. is an independent ship owning, ship managing and ship chartering business whose owners have a substantial interest in Ukrainian developments including a major white clay mine in the Donbass Region. This mine has almost unlimited reserves. It is active in regular sales, carried by Chester Shipping and contracted by its affiliates, to markets in Turkey, Italy and Spain. Further European sales opportunities are being developed.
To handle this business, Chester Shipping regularly charters in tonnage to meet the mine's export shipping schedules. As sales develop, these tonnages are, year-on-year, steadily rising. They provide a good base for Chester Shipping's steady development.
Chester Shipping is also active carrying shipments of steel, fertilizers and scrap products in its own and chartered ice class bulk carriers from Ukrainian and Russian ports in the Black Sea, in the Sea of Azov and in the Baltic Sea to European and Mediterranean ports.
The company is under the direct control of its General Manager, Captain Peter Kostyuk, who served with Azov Shipping Co and its affiliate Seasafe Corporation. Chester Shipping was founded in 1999 to develop some of the business lines handled by these former shipping companies.
